The company

A century of family history

Founded in 1924 and still led by the Mestre family, Mesfruits has grown at the pace of its orchards without ever changing course: growing fruit with real taste.

  • 1924 Family-owned since
  • 1 400 ha of orchards in production (2019 source)
  • 25 countries served
  • ~60 000 t of fruit per season (2018 source)

A family business

Three generations have led the company. This continuity, rare in the sector, is the first guarantee we offer our partners: people who commit for the long term.

Four French terroirs

Our fruit grows in the South-East, the Alps, the South-West and the Loire Valley. This diversity of soils and climates spreads the harvest and gives each variety its character.

Taste as our compass

“Our orchards have taste” is not a slogan: it is the criterion that guides our choice of varieties, our picking dates and our grading.

Milestones

  1. 1924

The Mestre family founds the business around the Provençal orchard.

  2. 2018

Exclusive French licence for the Crimson Snow® variety; first plantings.

  3. Aujourd'hui

Three generations at the helm — Jacques and François Mestre, joined by Hugo — for apples, pears and grapes shipped to 25 countries.

Our terroirs

Sud-Est

Vaucluse, Bouches-du-Rhône and Gard: the Mediterranean climate and the mistral wind shape fragrant, sun-filled fruit.

Alpes

Altitude and cool nights give the apples their crispness and clean acidity.

Sud-Ouest

In Tarn-et-Garonne, generous soils broaden the range and spread the harvest.

Val de Loire

A more northern terroir bringing freshness and balance to the varieties.
